The Ashtanga Primary Series is a purifying, detoxifying practice that will build heat and strengthen your mind-body connection. Every class has a different dedicated focus, which helps with pose alignment, breath work, and even meditation. This focus helps to explore the body through different levels of awareness, allowing you to better familiarize mind with body. Through this approach, understanding and dealing with everyday challenges becomes easier. As the body becomes more supple, the same happens to the mind.

Everyone who joins the class can start slowly. There is no need to do every asana(posture) or the vinyasa (a chain of postures that are repeated throughout the practice to keep the heat). Slowly learning the sequence, taking breaks when needed, and joining back in will allow you to fall in love with this beautiful practice.

Ashtanga yoga involves following a sequence of asanas which help with the progression and perfection of breath and meditation, creating complex results of practice.

This practice takes dedication and commitment, and these classes will give you the tools to get there. Prepare to transform body, breath, and movement through this rigorous yet rewarding sequence.”
